Accenture and Google Cloud Launch 1000-Engineer Gemini Enterprise Business Group to Deploy AI On-Site

Accenture and Google Cloud on Tuesday launched the Accenture Gemini Enterprise Business Group, a joint unit designed to embed up to 1,000 forward-deployed engineers directly inside enterprise clients to build and deploy agentic AI applications on the Gemini Enterprise platform. Google Cloud will train the Accenture engineers, known as FDEs, to design bespoke AI solutions, while a select contingent of Google Cloud's own FDEs will participate in engagements with top-tier customers. The new group draws on Accenture's existing bench of nearly 50,000 professionals with Google Cloud expertise.

The model mirrors the forward-deployed engineering approach popularized by Palantir and is explicitly aimed at solving one of enterprise AI's most persistent problems: translating pilots into measurable business outcomes. The Gemini Enterprise Business Group is the latest in a series of similar FDE programs Accenture has announced in 2026, following comparable joint initiatives with Microsoft in March, ServiceNow in May, and SAP in June. For Google Cloud, the deal represents a push to compete more aggressively in AI deployment, where rival cloud providers have moved to deepen enterprise integration.

Separately, Accenture announced that Emma Chalwin will join as chief marketing officer effective October 1. Chalwin previously held the CMO role at Workday and held senior marketing leadership positions at Salesforce, Adobe, McAfee, and Macrovision. Accenture chair and CEO Julie Sweet said she was "delighted" to welcome Chalwin to the firm.
