Anthropic Signs $35 Billion Cloud Deal With Nvidia-Backed Lambda for 700MW Texas Data Center

Anthropic has signed a $35 billion cloud computing agreement with Lambda, an AI infrastructure company backed by Nvidia, according to the Wall Street Journal. Under the deal, Nvidia will supply the chips and is leasing the underlying 700-megawatt data center campus in Texas from Hut 8, while Lambda will provide the compute capacity to Anthropic.

Hut 8 had previously disclosed 15-year leases covering the entire Texas campus, describing it as a facility that could represent roughly $20 billion in value, but had not named the tenant until now. The arrangement layers three parties: Hut 8 as landlord, Nvidia as chip supplier and campus leaseholder, and Lambda as the direct cloud compute provider to Anthropic.

The Lambda deal is part of a broader infrastructure push by Anthropic. Earlier in August 2026, the company signed a separate $45 billion agreement with Nscale, another Nvidia-backed firm, for compute capacity at a data center development in West Virginia, bringing the combined value of those two deals alone to $80 billion.
