Aztec Foundation Launches Tierra V6 Upgrade Doubling Private Proof Speed and Cutting Ethereum Deposit Time to 12 Seconds

Aztec Foundation has rolled out Tierra Alpha V6, a major upgrade to its Ethereum Layer 2 network, delivering significant speed improvements and patching a critical security vulnerability found in the prior V5 release. Private transaction proof generation now completes in approximately one second, roughly double the previous speed, while Ethereum-to-network message delivery has been cut to as little as 12 seconds, down from considerably longer deposit wait times.

On the security side, the upgrade introduces formal verification of core cryptographic components and an AI-powered testing harness, addressing the critical bug identified in V5 along with other earlier vulnerabilities. The new rollup requires developers to recompile contracts and migrate to new addresses, and Aztec is providing approximately 30 days of funded migration support for applications still running on V5.
