DeFi Development Corp Resumes SOL Purchases, Expands Treasury to 2.33 Million SOL

DeFi Development Corp (DFDV) has resumed buying Solana after a pause, acquiring approximately 19,000 SOL tokens to bring its total treasury to 2.33 million SOL and SOL equivalents. The purchases came as SOL climbed above the $100 level, rising roughly 23% amid broader crypto market strength, with Bitcoin also trading above $80,000. Quarter-to-date, SOL has outperformed the Nasdaq-100 by 33%, and DFDV shares have outperformed SOL itself by 1.8x over that same period.

In August alone, DFDV's return has been more than twice that of SOL. For the week ended August 21, 2026, DFDV ranked among the most actively traded publicly listed SOL digital asset treasury companies while leading the category in trading volume. The company also launched a free Solana data dashboard, though its stock remains near multi-year lows despite the treasury expansion.

Analysts note that DFDV's heavy concentration in Solana could boost its market influence but introduces meaningful financial risk if SOL's value deteriorates.
