Disney Parks Chief Thomas Mazloum Unveils Dual-Track Investment Strategy at D23

Thomas Mazloum, who became chairman of Disney Experiences in March 2026 after predecessor Josh D'Amaro was elevated to CEO of The Walt Disney Company, used Disney's D23 fan convention to lay out his strategy for the parks business. Mazloum said his approach centers on two parallel tracks: large-scale park expansions designed to attract new and infrequent visitors, and smaller, more immediate updates aimed at retaining annual passholders and the company's most dedicated superfans. The strategy reflects an effort to serve both ends of the Disney guest spectrum without sacrificing either.

D'Amaro, who built Disney Experiences into a segment generating roughly 36 billion dollars in annual revenue in fiscal 2025 before taking the top job, leaves Mazloum overseeing a global portfolio that includes theme parks, resorts, and cruise lines across multiple continents. Barron's also noted that D23 served as an early showcase for the vision of a new CEO and a reshaped parks leadership team, signaling what Disney's next chapter looks like under its new executive structure.
