Loud explosions were heard Tuesday night near Saudi Aramco's headquarters in Dhahran, in eastern Saudi Arabia, according to six sources who spoke to Reuters. The building caught fire and an evacuation order was issued. It remained unclear whether the headquarters was directly hit or struck by falling debris, according to a source with direct knowledge of the incident.

Smoke was seen coming from the headquarters. Saudi civil defense subsequently issued an alert for potential danger in Riyadh, the capital, where a loud boom was also heard. The incident follows a pattern of escalating Houthi attacks on Saudi cities and Aramco energy infrastructure in recent weeks, including a confirmed Houthi missile and drone strike on an Aramco facility in Riyadh earlier in October 2026.

  1. HormuzReportBREAKING: Yemen’s Houthis have now directly struck the nerve center of the world’s largest oil company, Saudi Aramco, in Dhahran, with smoke reported at the headquarters and evacuation orders issued, per Reuters. The strike comes after the Houthis explicitly named Aramco’s Dhahran headquarters as one of three targets they would hit if Saudi Arabia attacked the Sana’a oil depot. The facility houses Aramco’s corporate headquarters and research center, overseeing a company that produced 9.1 million barrels of liquids per day in H1 2026 and holds 247.2 billion barrels of oil-equivalent reserves.
