Meta Unveils Muse Charm, a Palm-Sized 5G Device for Its AI Agent, With December Ship Date

Meta Platforms surprised the market on September 23 with the debut of the Muse Charm, a palm-sized, dedicated device built specifically to access its fast-growing Muse AI agent on the go. The gadget features 5G connectivity and is designed to let users interact with Muse away from a phone or computer. Meta plans to ship the Charm in December, targeting the holiday shopping season.

The Charm announcement is part of a broader hardware push by Meta that also includes bringing Muse to its Ray-Ban audio glasses and a forthcoming VR device, positioning its AI agent across multiple form factors. Muse, which allows users to delegate tasks such as booking appointments, filling out forms, and monitoring home security feeds, is available through a free tier as well as subscription plans priced at $20 or $100 per month. The device push puts Meta in direct competition with others vying for the post-smartphone AI hardware space, including OpenAI, Microsoft, and Apple.

Meta stock has risen roughly 14 percent over the past month, recovering from earlier 2026 weakness driven by concerns over heavy AI spending, and the Charm announcement reinforces the company's strategy of turning its AI investments into consumer products.
