Myriad Genetics and SOPHiA GENETICS Team Up With AstraZeneca to Develop Prostate Cancer Genomic Instability Score Technology

Myriad Genetics and SOPHiA GENETICS announced on October 8, 2026 a new collaboration to develop and advance prostate cancer-specific genomic instability score (PrGIS) technology, with AstraZeneca participating as a third partner in the precision oncology effort. The PrGIS technology is designed to support precision oncology approaches for prostate cancer patients, adding a specialized genomic biomarker to the tools available for treatment decision-making.

The deal extends existing relationships among the three companies. SOPHiA GENETICS had previously entered into a major companion diagnostics collaboration with AstraZeneca in August 2026, and Myriad Genetics had separately established a strategic collaboration with SOPHiA GENETICS to develop liquid biopsy companion diagnostic testing solutions for pharmaceutical partners. The new PrGIS-focused agreement brings all three parties together around a prostate cancer-specific application.
