OpenAI Launches ChatGPT for Financial Services Powered by GPT-6 Astra, Targeting Wall Street Bankers

OpenAI on Thursday unveiled ChatGPT for Financial Services, a tailored version of its enterprise product built specifically for investment bankers and equity researchers. The product runs on GPT-6 Astra, the company's latest and most advanced reasoning model, and was developed with design partners Morgan Stanley and Evercore. It is aimed squarely at the labor-intensive research, financial modeling, and pitchbook creation tasks that have long been the domain of junior analysts and associates on Wall Street.

The product launches with built-in data integrations from LSEG, PitchBook, and Daloopa. OpenAI also announced it is working with FactSet, S&P Global, Preqin, and Datasite on shared sign-in and entitlement integrations, which would allow users to access credentialed financial data directly within the tool without switching platforms.

The launch deepens OpenAI's push into enterprise markets as the company prepares for a widely anticipated IPO. By automating tasks traditionally performed by entry-level bankers, the product signals a significant shift in how AI is being positioned on Wall Street, moving from a supplemental tool to one capable of handling core analytical work.
