Oracle announced an expanded collaboration with OpenAI at Oracle AI World in Las Vegas, integrating OpenAI's ChatGPT and Codex AI tools directly into its application stack to make enterprise databases more actionable. Mahesh Thiagarajan, Oracle's president of Cloud Infrastructure, said the integration allows users to build, deploy, and manage applications using ChatGPT. OpenAI's Greg Brockman, president and co-founder, said the partnership makes it easier for businesses to put AI to work through tools they already use. OpenAI CEO Sam Altman was scheduled to join Oracle co-CEO Clay Magouyrk for a keynote at the event.

Oracle also said it is adding new silicon options to Oracle Cloud Infrastructure, including Google's tensor processing units, OpenAI's Jalapeño chip, and Cerebras hardware, giving customers broader choices for running AI workloads. The move marks the first time Google's custom chips will be available on OCI. Oracle separately expanded its Fusion Data Intelligence platform with AI agents and added networking capabilities to its Acceleron product.

OpenAI is also expanding its presence on Oracle's marketplace, with ChatGPT Work and Codex becoming available through OCI's app ecosystem. The expanded relationship reduces OpenAI's reliance on any single cloud provider and positions Oracle as a more central platform for AI-driven enterprise solutions. Thiagarajan noted that Oracle personnel observed OpenAI's GPT-6 Astra model being trained at Oracle's Stargate data center campus in Abilene, Texas.
