Pentair Q3 2026 Adjusted EPS Beats by 10 Percent as Stock Surges Nearly 10 Percent

Pentair plc reported third quarter 2026 sales of $976 million, down 4 percent on a reported basis and 5 percent in core terms, excluding currency translation, acquisitions and divestitures. GAAP earnings per diluted share from continuing operations came in at $0.91, while adjusted EPS of $1.18 topped analyst expectations of roughly $1.07, a beat of approximately 10 percent. Revenue also edged past estimates by about 1.3 percent.

The sales decline was driven in part by a deliberate right-sizing of channel inventory ahead of the 2027 pool season. Net income fell compared with the same period last year, though the better-than-expected adjusted earnings reassured investors.

Pentair reaffirmed its full year 2026 guidance, which now includes the impact of the Taco Group Holdings acquisition and projects full year sales to be down approximately 3 percent on a reported basis. For the fourth quarter, the company introduced GAAP EPS guidance of approximately $1.07 and adjusted EPS guidance of approximately $1.15, with sales expected to rise 7 to 9 percent on a reported basis compared with the fourth quarter of 2025.

Shares, which had been trading near a 52-week low, jumped approximately 10 percent on the results, with pre-market indications already up around 2 percent before the move extended through the session.
