Regions Financial Q3 2026 EPS of $0.73 Beats by $0.07 as Net Income Rises 10.9% and Credit Losses Shrink

Regions Financial reported third-quarter 2026 net income of $611 million and GAAP diluted EPS of $0.71, with adjusted non-GAAP EPS of $0.73 that beat the consensus estimate of $0.66 by $0.07. Total adjusted revenue came in at $1.99 billion, roughly $10 million short of analyst forecasts.

Net interest income grew 3.3% year over year to $1.298 billion, aided by fixed-rate asset turnover, and the net interest margin expanded to 3.68% from 3.59% a year earlier. Total loans rose 3.9% to $99.827 billion at quarter-end. Non-interest expense grew only 1.4% to $1.118 billion, helping contain costs.

Credit quality was a standout: the provision for credit losses fell 35.2% to $68 million from $105 million in the year-ago quarter. Deposit bases across the consumer, corporate, and wealth management segments were broadly stable year over year, while the "other deposits" category declined 29%.

Shares were trading higher in the pre-market session following the results, gaining roughly 1.2%. The bank handed shareholders a 13% dividend increase ahead of the quarter, though analysts note the bank's own payout targets leave limited room for a repeat raise.
