The stock's slide on Monday outpaced competitors, according to MarketWatch, and options activity flagged unusual put buying in TTWO October 185 and October 190 contracts, suggesting some traders were positioning for further downside. The broader leak episode that began around August 18 had already temporarily wiped approximately $2.83 billion from Take-Two's market capitalization before a partial recovery.

Analysts at Seeking Alpha cautioned that the Street may be misjudging the long-term setup. GTA 6 preorders stood at roughly 4.86 million as of late August, trailing some earlier bullish projections, though 80 days remained before launch and a formal marketing push had yet to fully materialize.
