Trump Names Stephen Miller as White House Chief of Staff Starting November 9
Read this in the Market Flux appPresident Trump announced Friday that Stephen Miller will become White House Chief of Staff beginning Monday, November 9, replacing Susie Wiles in the role. The move comes despite Trump having said as recently as about three weeks ago that there was "zero chance" he was replacing Wiles, calling reports of her ouster "a fake story."
Miller, who has served as Deputy Chief of Staff and is one of Trump's longest-serving and most trusted advisers, will step up to lead the White House operation. Trump praised Wiles for doing an outstanding job, and she is not departing the broader orbit: she is moving to Trump's political operation rather than leaving entirely.
Miller has been a central figure in the Trump White House, with influence extending well beyond his immigration portfolio into broad areas of domestic and foreign policy. His elevation to the top administrative post gives him formal authority to match his existing influence over the day-to-day execution of Trump's agenda.
