Trump Signs Executive Order to Create US Space Academy at NASA Johnson Space Center Visit
President Donald Trump signed an executive order Friday at NASA's Johnson Space Center in Houston to establish a United States Space Academy, a NASA-led federal institution modeled after West Point and Annapolis. The academy will train personnel for the Space Force, NASA, and the civilian space industry, combining technical education with leadership development. A commission created by the order will advise the president on proposals for the academy's structure and location, with Texas under consideration as a potential home.
During the same visit, Trump honored the Artemis II crew, which earlier this year completed a flight around the moon, and highlighted plans for a crewed Mars mission in 2028.
