US, Russia and Ukraine Set Trilateral Peace Talks in Abu Dhabi for November 10-11

The United States, Russia and Ukraine will hold their first trilateral peace talks in Abu Dhabi on November 10 to 11, reviving a diplomatic effort that had been suspended since February. US special envoy Steve Witkoff announced the resumption on Tuesday, with the Kremlin confirming shortly afterward that Putin aide Vladimir Medinsky will serve as Moscow's chief negotiator.

Separately, First Lady Melania Trump is set to bring Russian and Ukrainian representatives to the White House to discuss a local ceasefire in the Kherson region, adding a parallel diplomatic track to the broader Abu Dhabi process. The Kremlin also signaled it hopes to finalize plans for a trilateral summit between Presidents Putin, Trump and Xi Jinping in the coming days, a development that raises questions about Ukraine's role in any broader settlement.

On the same day, the European Commission announced it will host a meeting in Brussels on Wednesday with representatives from the US, Ukraine, France, Germany, the UK, NATO and the World Bank. That gathering is focused on a prosperity plan and security guarantees for Ukraine, a separate but coordinated strand of diplomacy. Bloomberg also reported that the US is planning a fresh push within NATO to accelerate arms deliveries to Ukraine, signaling Washington is pursuing both a negotiated path and continued military support simultaneously.
