Ironwood Pharmaceuticals Promotes Chief Commercial Officer Tammi Gaskins to CEO as Tom McCourt Retires

Ironwood Pharmaceuticals announced on October 16, 2026 that its Board of Directors has appointed Tammi Gaskins as Chief Executive Officer, elevating her from her role as Chief Commercial Officer. The move follows Tom McCourt's decision to retire from the CEO post effective December 31, 2026, after 17 years at Ironwood, including five years as CEO.

Gaskins, 52, joined Ironwood in July 2020 and has served as Chief Commercial Officer since January 2025. She was a key commercial voice for the company's flagship gastrointestinal drug LINZESS, which posted U.S. net sales of $272.5 million in Q1 2026, a 97% increase year over year. McCourt, 68, will remain on the Board of Directors following his retirement and is expected to enter a consulting agreement with the company at a fee of $10,000 per month.
