Oracle Stock Jumps 7% After Q1 FY2027 Revenue Surges 30% on Triple-Digit Cloud Infrastructure Growth

Oracle reported fiscal first-quarter 2027 results that beat Wall Street estimates across the board, sending shares up roughly 7% in after-hours trading. Total revenue climbed approximately 30% year over year, with cloud revenue rising 62% to $11.61 billion, topping the $11.51 billion analyst consensus. Cloud infrastructure revenue more than doubled, extending the triple-digit growth trajectory that has made Oracle one of the most direct public-market proxies for the AI infrastructure buildout.

Oracle's remaining performance obligations, a measure of contracted future revenue, reached $664 billion at the end of the quarter, above StreetAccount's consensus of $630.6 billion. The figure reflects continued demand for Oracle Cloud Infrastructure, or OCI, which competes with Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure, and Google Cloud for AI workloads. Software revenue was the one soft spot, falling 3% to $5.55 billion and coming in slightly below the $5.61 billion consensus.

For the full fiscal year 2027, Oracle raised its adjusted earnings-per-share guidance to $8.10, above the $8.07 LSEG consensus, and reiterated revenue of at least $90 billion, modestly above the $89.76 billion consensus. Capital spending guidance for the full year was unchanged. During the quarter, Oracle announced AI agents for human resources teams and secured a Pentagon contract worth up to $7 billion over a decade. The stock had fallen about 22% year to date through Thursday's close before the results were released.
