Saudi Arabia, Turkey and Pakistan Send Top Officials to Tehran for Regional Security Talks

Top officials from the three Mecca Pact countries, Saudi Arabia, Turkey and Pakistan, are scheduled to meet Iranian officials in Tehran on Monday to discuss regional coordination, according to two sources familiar with the matter. Saudi Arabia is to be represented by Defense Minister Prince Khalid bin Salman, while Pakistan's delegation will be led by Army Chief General Asim Munir. Turkey's representative was not named in the available sourcing.

The talks come as the broader regional security environment remains volatile. Separately, the Saudi-led coalition announced strikes on Houthi tunnels and missile launchers in Yemen on the same day, underscoring the range of active flashpoints that officials are expected to address. A meeting of this format, bringing together the Gulf, South Asia and the Levant under one roof in Tehran, signals a notable diplomatic effort at multilateral de-escalation.
