In pre-summit talks between Bessent and Chinese Vice Premier He Lifeng, the two sides discussed establishing a formal U.S.-China AI Dialogue and a mutual notification mechanism for AI-related incidents. Harder structural questions, including technology transfer, supply chains, Taiwan, and the broader strategic balance, remain unresolved.
