Trump Praises Musk for Pledging SpaceX Stock to Every American Child Through Trump Accounts

President Trump publicly thanked Elon Musk on Truth Social for pledging to give a share of SpaceX stock to every child in America, calling the initiative an act of incredible generosity and saying it was exactly what he envisioned when Trump Accounts were created. Trump framed the move as a major step toward giving American children a stake in the American Dream.

Musk announced the pledge on X, writing that next year he will give one of his SpaceX shares to every child in the United States, describing it as the first of many such gifts. SpaceX, which trades under the ticker SPCX, carries a valuation of roughly 2 trillion dollars, and there are approximately 73 million children under 18 in the US, making the pledge a multibillion-dollar commitment. SpaceX COO Gwynne Shotwell had already separately pledged more than 320 million dollars in SpaceX stock to fund Trump Accounts for over 2 million children.

Trump Accounts are a new federal savings and investment vehicle established under the Trump administration. The Treasury Department has already automatically enrolled millions of children born between 2025 and 2028, with each eligible child receiving a one-off 1,000 dollar contribution. Musk's pledge would route SpaceX shares into those accounts, giving tens of millions of American minors a direct equity stake in the aerospace and artificial intelligence company.
