President Donald Trump hosted Chinese President Xi Jinping at a White House state dinner on September 24, drawing an extraordinary roster of American business leaders whose combined net worth exceeded $2.4 trillion. The evening brought together the chief executives and founders of the country's most powerful technology, finance and luxury companies in a single room alongside the two heads of state.

Elon Musk, who alone accounts for nearly 40 percent of that combined wealth figure, attended alongside Amazon founder Jeff Bezos, Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang, Apple Executive Chairman Tim Cook, Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg, Alphabet CEO Sundar Pichai, OpenAI CEO Sam Altman and OpenAI President Greg Brockman. Amazon's Jeff Bezos, whose fortune ranks as the world's second largest, was also present, as were Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella, AMD CEO Lisa Su and Qualcomm CEO Cristiano Amon. TikTok investor Jeff Yass and Paramount Skydance CEO David Ellison were on the list as well.

Finance and luxury were also well represented. JPMorgan Chase CEO Jamie Dimon, Blackstone CEO Stephen Schwarzman, casino magnate Miriam Adelson and LVMH CEO Bernard Arnault attended. The presidential couples were seated at a head table with Cook, Huang and his wife Lori, Musk and Su. The two-course menu included a yellow squash velouté with crispy pancetta and sesame-crusted sea bass.
