The Trump administration announced sweeping tariffs on foreign drone imports, with a 100% duty applied to unmanned aircraft systems of a certain size or those with national-security capabilities, and a 25% tariff on smaller drones. Drones and components from allied nations, specifically the EU, Japan, Liechtenstein, South Korea and Switzerland, face a lower 15% tariff. The White House framed the move as a measure to counter China and reduce American dependence on foreign drone supplies.

Many of the new levies are set to take effect within 21 days of the announcement.
